It was announced at the 2006 Tri-State Spring Symposium that Maureen Decorah from Madison, WI was awarded WHS Member of the Year. This award is awarded in recognition of a WHS member who has contributed significantly to the WHS and the field of histology, and who, by outstanding example has inspired others.

Vicki Kalschuer was awarded the Article of the Year award for her contribution of submitting and co-authoring “The Reality of Osteoporosis”, which was published in the Volume 30 Issue 2 “In Focus” newsletter, September 2005. Vicki is a regular contributor to the WHS newsletter. She has also submitted interesting links & literature and other newsworthy pieces to the newsletter in 2005. Her works have also been published in Advance for Medical Laboratory Professionals and the NSH In Action newsletter.
